Dr. Tom Herman, Vice-President, Academic working with the Senate administers the academic program (instruction and research) and University services that support of the academic program, such as student affairs, libraries, information resources, and institutional planning. Dr. Herman also supports the activities of the Arthur Irving Academy for the Environment.

The offices which report directly to the Vice-President, Academic include:
Dean of Arts
Dr. Bob Perrins, Dean, Faculty of Arts. This faculty provides students instruction in the performing arts, humanities, and social sciences. Our faculty members are some of the very best professors on campus and leaders in their fields of research. Courses in the Arts cover not only the traditional subjects associated with a liberal education, but also new fields of academic discovery.
Dean of Pure and Applied Science
Dr. Peter Williams, Dean of Pure and Applied Science. This faculty is a vibrant community of scholars who are passionate about understanding ourselves, our environment, our world and our universe and using that knowledge to improve and protect all we do.
Dean of Professional Studies
Dr. Heather Hemming, Dean of Professional Studies. This faculty provides professional preparation through degree programs in the Fred C. Manning School of Business (BBA.), the School of Education (B.Ed. & M.Ed.), and the School of Recreation Management and Kinesiology (BRM. & B.Kin). The Faculty of Professional Studies is focused on providing personalized education in order to meet students' specific educational interests and needs.
Dean of Research and Graduate Studies
Dr. David MacKinnon, Acting Dean, Research and Graduate Studies. This division supports, promotes, and celebrates a vibrant, growing research community. According to Research Infosource, Inc.'s most recent analysis, Acadia's research income increased 67.6% in one year ranking Acadia third of all Canadian universities in growth in research funding.
Director, Open Acadia
Dr. Gary Hepburn, Director, Open Acadia. Open Acadia offers flexible programming and learning opportunities to Acadia students and the greater community. It offers education to youths, seniors, and working professionals. Formerly known as Continuing and Distance Education, Open Acadia offers a diverse set of programs on-campus, off-campus, and online.
Registrar
Ms. Rosemary Jotcham, Registrar. The Registrar's Office, located on the first floor of University Hall, manages course outcomes and scheduling. The office is housed with Student Accounts, which allows Student Services Representatives to address registration and student financial enquiries.
